ABC, located in Annapurna region, is a popular trekking destination in Nepal. It is a rewarding adventure, offering an exceptional blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and a sense of achievement upon reaching the base camp surrounded by towering peaks.
Snow capped mountains of Annapurna range and Machhapuchre provides a mesmerizing view. Well traced trekking routes with signpost and cosy tea houses with friendly owner of the teahouses made me feel safe through out the journey.Well managed tea houses, availability of basic needed facility in tea houses and the role of ACAP for the preservation of Annapurna region made this trekking route so popular not only in Nepal but all across the world.
The journey started with a bike ride from Bhaktapur to Manungkot on the first day. The rough, under constructed Pokhara-Mugling road was frustating taking longer hour than expected. Next early morning, sunrise from Manungkot made me feel like stepping into a dreamscape. It was not only a visual delights but a soulful experience. Clouds play a magical role in the sunrise view blanketting the valleys below like a vast and undulating sea of white cotton. The trek started with a steep climb up a ladder for about 2 hour after crossing a suspension bridge at Jhinu Danda. Many national and international tourists were heading to ABC during this peak season(October). The trek from MBC to ABC was the highlight, being surrounded by himalayas on all sides. The warm hospitality of JB Dai at Annapurna Sanctuary Lodge, along with his friendly demeanor and humble nature, was the best memory of my journey to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC).
